I wake up refreshed and ready to go to work, feeling a little anxious about giving a presentation, but also self-confident. I wear a black business skirt-suit, neat and very stylish; obviously I have a job with a good income. I take a bus or subway to work, observing the young people around me, looking for new trends. Maybe I even go over and speak to someone for a moment to ask them about the logo on their DIY t-shirt, or the music leaking from their headphones.
Once I arrive at work I have a few moments to review my speech before stepping into an auditorium. I am presenting the results of a study on recent trends in recreational drug use and make suggestions about the implications this has for public health programs. My audience is composed of educators, public health officials, and doctors. Afterwards I walk around meeting people and learning about what they are seeing, what they think needs to be done.
I meet a friend that I work with for lunch. In the afternoon I visit a local hospital where I have permission to interview several patients with drug-related illnesses. In the late afternoon I walk back to my office where I spend the rest of the afternoon online, researching new drugs, and trying to determine the possible legality of various harm reduction programs.
In the evening I go home to have lasagna and chocolate cake with my boyfriend, and feel pleasantly tired.

The next day is a holiday, my boyfriend and I both sleep late. We go out for breakfast and meet up with friends to walk around and go shopping. I get new clothes with my girlfriends and he gets obscure CD’s with his guy friends. We all meet up again at a bookstore/coffeeshop combination. It’s not warm enough for swimming, but we walk down to the beach and smell the saltiness. Later we go to a small party at a friend’s house.
